Relaxing Accommodations in a Romantic Peoria IL B&B
Mission Oak Inn was in the planning stages for almost ten years before it started to become a reality. During that time Denny and Jan were staying at bed and breakfasts in different states and were extensively planning for their guests’ comfort.
Denny is the chef and also an accomplished woodworker and wood carver. Throughout the inn, you can see his fine craftsmanship, from the coffered ceilings to the custom designed and built cabinetry and furniture. Jan, among other things, is the administrator.
History of the Inn
In 1999 work was started on the creation of the lake. The lake work was completed in 2000 and it started filling up that year. The fish were stocked in 2001 and have grown rapidly, with large-mouth bass weighing over 6 1/2 pounds.
In 2004, ground was broken for the inn. Denny and Jan did much of the inside work themselves over the next two years. Since completion and opening of the inn in late 2006, garden areas and fishing docks have been added resulting in more places to relax near the lake.
Denny is an accomplished woodworker and woodcarver. Throughout the inn, you can see his fine craftsmanship, from the coffered ceilings to the custom designed and built cabinetry, furniture, and bird carvings.
We have an on-site gift shop where you can purchase fine handmade wood items, souvenir wine glasses, and custom pottery from Flagg Pottery in Chillicothe. Flagg Pottery makes our Mission Oak Inn custom coffee mugs.
